The SmartGen Gas Genset Solution is designed for the automation, control, and monitoring of gas generator sets, including systems operating on natural gas, biogas, and other gaseous fuels. The solution provides automatic genset start and stop, operating parameter monitoring, synchronization and parallel operation of multiple generator sets, as well as parallel operation with the utility grid.
SmartGen controllers provide comprehensive genset management and monitoring of key engine and generator parameters. Through CANBUS communication and I/O expansion modules, the system can acquire and process additional operating data, including exhaust gas temperature, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and other signals from sensors and auxiliary equipment.
For installations with multiple generator sets, the system supports automatic synchronization, parallel operation, and load sharing, enabling available generating capacity to be efficiently matched to the actual power demand of the facility.
The solution can also support parallel operation with the utility grid, providing flexible control of power generation modes and integration of the gas power plant into the facility’s overall electrical power system.
Using SmartGen CMM366A series communication modules, remote monitoring of genset status, operating parameters, alarms, and events can be implemented, simplifying system operation and maintenance.
