The SmartGen solution is designed for automated control of power distribution systems with two independent utility incomers and a bus tie circuit breaker. Based on the HAT821 controller, the system continuously monitors power sources S1 and S2 and automatically controls the QS1 and QS2 incoming breakers and the QTIE bus tie breaker.
The controller continuously monitors both power sources and automatically determines the appropriate system configuration according to their operating status. If one incoming source fails or operates outside the specified limits, the affected load section can be transferred to the available source through the bus tie, helping maintain power supply to the corresponding bus section.
The system supports multiple switching strategies, including two-out-of-three and one-out-of-three breaker control logic, while configurable transfer delays, automatic recovery times, and other operating parameters provide flexibility for different power distribution requirements. Electrical interlocking prevents unsafe breaker combinations and ensures reliable transfer operations.
With remote communication and monitoring capabilities, operators can monitor incoming sources, bus sections, breaker status, and system operating parameters without requiring continuous on-site supervision.
The solution is suitable for industrial facilities, commercial buildings, hospitals, data centers, critical infrastructure, and other power distribution systems requiring redundancy between two utility incomers and a high level of power supply reliability.
