The SmartGen solution is designed for the integrated control of multiple generator sets, including synchronization, genset-to-genset paralleling, and parallel operation with the utility grid. The system provides automated control of generator sets, switching equipment, and load distribution, enabling flexible and reliable power systems for a wide range of applications.
SmartGen controllers support automatic genset start/stop, synchronization, active and reactive power sharing, load management, and grid connection control. The solution can be implemented in isolated power stations as well as in complex installations incorporating multiple generator sets, busbars, and utility mains connections.
The system supports a wide range of operating strategies, including multi-genset paralleling, mains paralleling, Black Start, Peak Shaving, constant power export, redundancy control, and multi-bus power management. It can also be integrated into gas genset and CHP applications.
With support for CAN Bus and other communication interfaces, the system can interface with various engine ECUs and AVR systems, providing fast response to load changes and stable control of generator operating parameters.
