The SmartGen Hybrid Energy On/Off-Grid Transfer Solution is designed for hybrid power systems combining the utility grid, photovoltaic generation (PV), and an energy storage system (ESS), where automatic transfer between grid-connected and off-grid operation is required.
The system is centrally managed by the SmartGen HEMS200 Hybrid Energy Management System, which monitors power flows, grid conditions, energy storage operation, and load distribution.
Under normal operating conditions, the facility can operate from the utility grid while simultaneously utilizing photovoltaic generation and stored energy. In the event of a grid failure or outage, the system provides transfer to off-grid operation, maintaining the power supply to priority loads using the ESS.
The system separates consumers into Essential Loads and Non-essential Loads. This allows available stored energy to be prioritized for critical equipment that requires continuous power supply during grid outages.
The STS Combiner Cabinet provides the required switching between power sources and loads, while the Bidirectional Energy Meter monitors bidirectional power flow between the facility and the utility grid.
The solution supports local and remote monitoring through the SmartGen cloud platform, PCs, and mobile devices, enabling operators to monitor equipment status and key power-system parameters.
This solution is suitable for industrial and commercial facilities, enterprises, office and warehouse complexes, critical infrastructure, and other applications requiring reliable backup power and controlled transfer between the utility grid and an autonomous power system.
